Abstract

The necessity to find the best ways to form the green economy determines the relevance of the work. The issues of the green economy are not sufficiently developed in the science. They are coming from the practical needs of the environmental issues solving in different regions of the world. In modern conditions, there are no universal ways of transition of the states to the green economy. The theoretical positions to the analysis of the green economy served as a methodological basis for the sociological survey. The object is the population of Samara region. The paper reveals the specificity of the attitude of the region’s population to the prospects of forming a green economy. The author analyzed the attitude of the population to legal, socio-economic, technical and technological methods of the environmental issues solving and concluded that the population supports legal and socio-economic methods more often than technical and technological ones. The results of the survey characterize the problems of modernization of Russian economy.

The opinions of the survey participants reflect the necessity to compensate for the environmental damage. The results of the survey demonstrate the insufficient level of development and implementation of green technologies in the region. The author concludes that it is necessary to search for complex approaches to the formation of the conditions for the green economy in Samara region.
