Abstract

The article mentions the leading researchers involved in the study of the specifics of a network of trade in the conditions of market relations. Examines modern trends of development, and identifies problem areas, gives a comparative analysis of the key trends of development of the retail trade network, as Russian, and world. Presents statistical indicators of the development of the industry, as well as the example of the structural development of the formats alliances on the example of the Russian company X5 Retail Group. Discusses the benefits and threats for the sector of retail retailer after accession to the WTO.
